RCSI ERC EXTENSION, BEAUMONT HOSPITAL, DUBLIN 9

CS Consulting was commissioned by the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) to act as the Civil & Structural Engineers for the design and construction of a multi-storey ERC extension to the existing Smurfit building on the grounds of the live Beaumont Hospital.

The extension development consisted of a new student concourse at ground floor level to link the existing building with the new facility extension. The new extension includes a series of large flexible multi-functional tutorial rooms on the ground floor, open-plan faculty offices and meeting spaces on the first floor, and laboratory and research facilities on the second floor. The extension is clad in a white polished concrete panel which compliments the existing building.
