WESTWOOD STUDENT ACCOMMODATION, DANGAN, GALWAY

This student accommodation scheme is located on the lands of the Westwood House in Dangan, Co. Galway. The development consists of 394 no. bedrooms, together with all ancillary facilities, arranged in 5 no. blocks which vary in height from 3 to 5 storeys. A café/restaurant space is provided on the ground floor of Block A. 24 no. car parking spaces are provided along with 140 no. cycle parking spaces.

Planning permission was obtained through the Strategic Housing Development (SHD) system. The buildings are of reinforced concrete construction with precast columns and modular bathroom pods were also used. The parking is permeable and an attenuation tank, which can withstand a 100-year storm event, was installed as part of the works.
