The development of “Chatham & King” included the demolition of existing three storey buildings and the construction of a five storey building of 6,208 sq.m.

The development includes a two storey basement, formed with perimeter secant piles tied through a capping beam into reinforced concrete basement liner walls. The basement slabs and internal walls are reinforced concrete. The superstructure from ground floor to roof is a steel frame with castellated beam and composite concrete and profiled metal deck flooring.

The building joins into the existing retail / office building on at One Clarendon Row which was constructed with ‘soft spots’ to allow for the integration of the two. The existing stair and lift core will provide vertical circulation for the new building. The surface water attenuation storage was also originally sized to cater for the proposed Chatham & King redevelopment.
