Planning permission for a hotel development consisting of new 7-storey structure and substantial urban realm, reusing and refurbishing of 2 nr. existing 19th century former industrial buildings.
The first of the existing buildings is to have the facade retained and a new structural steelwork frame installed within on piled foundations. Some underpinning is also required. The second of the existing buildings is to be entirely refurbished including the existing cast iron beams, cast iron columns and timber floor joists. An existing masonry chimney stack is to be refurbished including rebuilding of failed masonry, repointing and flaunching to the top.
The new structure is to be a reinforced concrete flat slab structure on piled foundations.
