We delivered the full civil and structural engineering design for the main building, along with engineering input for the fit-out phase.
The 9-12 Dawson Street project is a mixed-use redevelopment that involved extensive demolitions, alterations, refurbishments, and additional construction to bring this iconic building into the 21st Century. CS Consulting provided Civil and Structural Engineering services for this project. The redevelopment includes restaurant space at ground floor level and Grade A office space across 7 floors. The existing car parking remained in the basement, with bicycle spaces, staff shower and changing facilities, as well as storage and locker facilities. The project retains the historical integrity of the protected structures while modernizing the building for contemporary use.
The existing 5-storey building over a basement comprises three protected structures with separate glazed facades. Two new steel-framed setback floors were added for offices. Works included upgrading floors 1–4, reinstating the double-height entrance hall at No. 11–12, new lift cores, and circulation areas. Mini-piles were installed in the basement, and a part green roof was added above.
