This apartment scheme for an approved housing body transforms a former quarry near Drogheda town center into a high-density urban community. The project involved demolishing existing structures, including batching silos and aggregate bins, and extensive rock removal. It comprises three part 4-/part 5-storey buildings with 66 residential units—30 sheltered housing and 36 general needs units—featuring a mix of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments. A basement level provides 54 car parking spaces.
The project included an ESB substation and all related infrastructure and site development works. The 66 apartments allow for a range of needs within the ageing community, and a Clann community hub provides additional support, with social lounge, laundry, communal kitchen and offices for the support team.
