Boot Road Primary Care Centre is a 6,517sq.m. primary care centre provided across 2 blocks over a single storey basement. The project was deemed as ‘essential works’ by the HSE during Covid-19 restrictions and progressed under strict Covid-19 guidelines. The centre was developed in two phases. Phase 1 including stripping the site, demolishing existing buildings and excavating the site to develop basement facilities – including a total of 149 car parking spaces mostly at basement level. Phase 2 consisted of the main construction of the buildings. The services provided by the HSE to public patients from the new Primary Care Centre include public health and community nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics and counselling. There is also be HSE disability services for children and young people, with a new centre for a children’s disability network team.
The buildings were developed using insulated concrete form (ICF), an innovative and sustainable modern method of construction (MMC) that combines the strength of reinforced concrete with the energy efficiency of insulated materials. This project was delivered through the HSE PCC operational lease mechanism.This project has an A-level building energy rating.
