The MOXY Hotel is a hospitality project involving the redevelopment of a 1970s four-storey office block in Dublin City Centre. The project transformed the existing building into a 157-room hotel with a ground-floor reception, bar, and restaurant. This project was recognized as the ‘Tourism & Hospitality Project of the Year 2020’ at the Irish Construction Industry Awards.

The redevelopment retained and re-used the existing structural frame and floor slabs, with a three-storey lightweight steel structure added on top, and infilling of an existing mezzanine above the ground floor. The new building now extends vertically to six floors with a set-back penthouse level. Extensive structural assessment of the existing building and structural design for the additional structure were key components of the project.
