The extension to St. Flannan’s College is a 2878sq.m. extension utilising proprietary 3D volumetric mass timber modules prefabricated off-site by Lidan Designs. This innovative new MMC product is currently in the process of securing agrément certification from NSAI, and our Team is involved in this process with Lidan Designs.

The typical module make-up is 4No 160x160mm Glulam corner posts with a 120m thk CLT base and an I joist ceiling with prefabricated roof.

Our role is to provide structural engineering design for manufacture of the 3D volumetric mass timber modules and also sub-structure design for their installation.

These modules allows a rapid-build programme in line with MMC best practice.
