TULLAMORE URBAN REGENERATION
Status: Complete (2022-2024)
Client: Offaly County Council
Sector: Masterplan; Transport Planning
The Tullamore Regeneration Framework aims to position Tullamore as a model for urban regeneration, focusing on compact growth, vibrant public spaces, and sustainable mobility. It aligns with the “Town Centre First” policy and presents a forward-looking vision for the town, focusing on revitalizing vacant, derelict, and under utilised sites in the town centre. It emphasises public realm enhancements, sustainable access, and permeability strategies. Our role included developing solutions for traffic and transport services, car parking management, vehicular, pedestrian and cyclist route options and potential zoned site development. Public consultations and meetings with Offaly County Council and Local Councillors informed opportunities for the Framework, which was finalised in October 2024.
Our role included preparing a sustainable access and permeability strategy for the Framework which detailed a number of actions to reduce travel demand, promote sustainable modes of transport, develop supporting infrastructure and provide access for all.
