Accessibility Masterclass at The Wayfinding Centre

At CS Consulting, we believe that great engineering is measured by how well it serves every member of the community. Yesterday, our team furthered this commitment by participating in a Technical Masterclass at The Wayfinding Centre.

Through an immersive workshop, our engineers stepped away from the drawing board to explore the real-world barriers people face in the built environment. The session focused on the core principles of human-centered mobility and the nuances of effective wayfinding.

Key areas of focus included:

  • Breaking Barriers: Identifying physical and sensory obstacles in urban spaces.

  • Inclusive Infrastructure: Designing safer streets and crossings that cater to all users.

  • Wayfinding Excellence: Understanding how people navigate complex environments and how engineering can simplify those journeys.

The session served as a powerful reminder of our role as civil, structural, and traffic engineers. We don't just build structures; we shape the experiences of the people who move through them. Designing with accessibility at the forefront ensures that our cities are safer, more navigable, and more inclusive for everyone.

We would like to extend our thanks to the trainers at The Wayfinding Centre for sharing their invaluable expertise. Their lived experiences added a vital perspective to our technical discussions.

At CS Consulting, we are committed to embedding these best practices in accessibility into every project we design and deliver.
